Towing the Lines

While most claims processing systems are oriented toward one line of business, IDP (Wyncote, Pa.) has released Claim-It, a new claims processing system that encompasses all property and casualty lines. According to IDP, Claim-It lets insurers set up, reserve, monitor, track and pay losses to closure for any P&C line, including homeowners, auto, commercial lines and workers' compensation.

The IDP-hosted solution, which is Web-based and operates on a Microsoft (Redmond, Wash.) .NET platform, enables claims adjusters to enter data remotely in real time. Carriers can customize Claim-It by defining key entries, such as those for reason codes and cause-of-loss tables. Additionally, the application delivers a full range of reports, including loss records for reinsurance and management reports.

According to Mike Vaccarello, VP of sales and marketing for IDP, Claim-It "provides the ability to implement in a short time frame to any piece of data in the system." He adds that Claim-It delivers high-level SQL Server processing and is available as a stand-alone module or as part of IDP's Acies/one integrated insurance system.
