First Guard Insurance Offers Truckers Mobile Claims Submission
Truckers covered by First Guard can report new claims via handheld mobile devices in a process that takes less than five minutes to complete.

Physical damage truck insurance specialist First Guard Insurance Co. (Venice, Fla.) has launched the capability for truckers insured by the carrier to submit claims via mobile devices.

Using the new capability truckers covered by First Guard can report claims by visiting the insurer's Web site, www.1stguard.com and clicking on a "Quick Claim" icon visible on the screen of their mobile device. The process takes less than five minutes to complete, according to a First Guard source, and once the necessary information is submitted to the insurer, a licensed claims adjuster will call the insured within normal business hours to initiate a formal claim. The feature is for new claims only.

"First Guard's goal is to make life easier for the trucker, and anything we can do, such as the mobile claims submission is definitely a step in the right direction," says Ed Campbell, chairman, First Guard. Campbell asserts that o other truck insurer offers mobile submission of new claims.
